Situated on the hills between villa Valmarana and La Rotonda of Palladio

Villa San Bastiano is located on the hillside of Vicenza, overlooking the 'Valley of Silence' that inspired the famous Italian writer Antonio Fogazzaro who made 'San Bastiano' his home.

Painters such as Gianbattista and Giandomenico Tiepolo whose masterpiece frescoes adorn the Villa Valmarana ai Nani nearby also drew inspiration from the beauty of the area.

The Villa was bombed during World War II and was re-built by the descendants of the Fogazzaro family who still own the property. It is now a most charming home and has been a favorite destination for many distinguished guests throughout its life.

On the outside there is a beautiful terrace facing the Valletta del Silenzio, where one can enjoy the golden aura of the Venetian sunsets amidst ancient cypresses, cedars, pines and the most beautifully scented osmanthus bushes, and roses, geraniums, lilies which fill the well tended garden with colour: you will feel rested in this peaceful oasis of relaxation.

The swimming pool next to the house overlooks the Villa Valmarana and one is constantly reminded, even during the most informal leisure activities of the history, art and culture of the surrounding area. There is a changing room with fridge, shower and plenty of lounge chairs for soaking the summer sunshine.

The gate to the property is remotely activated and security cameras abound within the garden and the perimeter of the villa.

Inside there is air conditioning to the main bedrooms, the first floor guest room corridor, and the main living areas and ventilation is provided for your comfort during the summer months.

On the lower ground floor is the country style kitchen where you can create sumptuous meals from the large range with electric oven and 5 gas hobs, microwave, large fridge, freezer, fireplace, dishwasher, washing machine, and a lift to send all your gourmet creations to the dining room on the ground floor. There is also a utility room with ironing facilities, a drying room and the staff accommodation.

On the ground floor is the main reception room and the dining room, sumptuously furnished and tastefully decorated in a traditional yet functional way. There is also the main bedroom suite comprising of a master bedroom with sitting room, changing room and fully equipped bathroom; the room has direct access to the garden and the swimming pool.

An extra double bedroom with bathroom en-suite is also on the ground floor.

The beautiful sitting room has direct access to the terrace area, sheltered from the sun by an electric awning, and warmed during the winter months by a cozy log fireplace.

The dining room has a bow-window annexe with extra seating and a television, and the beautiful views of the garden and valley beyond.

On the first floor there are four additional bedrooms, twins or doubles, two of which en-suite, a sitting room and a family bathroom with a separate shower room/WC. Twin beds can be made into doubles if needed.

In the loft there is a charming double bedroom with en-suite and air conditioning.
